|
|
Additional Costs:
|
|
Once training has occurred and you begin to implement the program the cost of the student manuals are:
Course Manual Cost Per Student Enrolled:
$ 9.95 per manual (per student)
Includes the following:
· A 5% discount off bulk purchases of all our manuals.
(A purchase of 100 to 250 manuals)
· A 10% discount off bulk plus purchases of all our manuals.
(A purchase of 251 to 500 manuals)

|
**Remember that costs for manuals will be recovered as you charge the students for their manuals. You could ask for the $10.00 to cover the manuals upon initial registration for their classes. This way you would have the money up-front to order the student manuals prior to the class even beginning.

**Facilitator manual purchase is mandatory for all trained facilitators.

Other Important Information to Consider:
|
|
All trainings include:
· A detailed MK Implementation “How To” Manual
· Unlimited Support Services from the National Office
· A detailed Implementation “How To” Manual on how to develop an annual fundraising campaign that could yield $30,000 to $100,000 for “Working Scholarships” for youth and their families that cannot afford to pay the fees for MK
$ 99.95 Annual Certification/Recertification per Facilitator
Each organization offering MK are required to mail to FLP annually, an acceptable for viewing, one-hour video, of each trained or certified facilitator “in action” while facilitating an MK Group. Our Evaluation/Certification Department will view the tape and give a written critique and a recertification certificate if the facilitator met the most basic requirements of MK’s methodology and pedagogy. If not, they will get a full evaluation that includes what that facilitator must do to get recertification. Another video would be submitted for recertification at that time.

Options for Implementing MK:
You have three basic options for implementation:
Option 1:
Implement on a fee basis (charge the standard fees for classes), charge for student manuals, with a mandate of Experiential Learning Service Projects. This choice is highly recommended since this is how MK has traditionally been implemented. Also note that this implementation method is how MK has been studied and found so very effective.
Option 2:
Implement without a fee basis, but charge for course guides, with a mandate of Experiential Learning Service Projects (Working Scholarships). (With this method an organization would have to have money in place to purchase supplies and to pay facilitators, as volunteer facilitation is not effective and against our policy.) If an employee(s) takes this on as another duty to an already existing position, (coordinating and/or facilitating the MK initiative) the only costs remaining are the costs of class supplies, which are minimal.
Option 3:
Implement without a fee basis and do not charge for student manuals, with a mandate of Experiential Learning Service Projects due to having a monetary source (grant, etc.) to pay for facilitators, purchase class supplies and student manuals.

How MK pays for itself:
· If you choose the Option 1 which has been used by the founders of MK for nearly ten years across Tennessee, (to charge fees for MK attendance) you will generate enough revenue to pay for one or more full-time staff, to pay facilitators, to continually purchase and stock for MK student manuals, and even have money left over for other great ventures.
· Also, if you choose to have students pay $10.00 per manual, which is highly recommended, you will have all the costs of student manuals covered.
· With this option no organization is dependent upon grants or the renewal of grants to keep MK going. Also, for those students and families who cannot pay, you have a proven method to help raise the money you need for scholarships.
· **We realize about 33% of all students and their families will not be able to pay the fees and, thus, be eligible for a working scholarship. That is where the annual fundraiser comes into play—after a successful fundraiser, you would have enough money in the scholarship fund to pay for the 33% for that year and perhaps lots more.

Purchasing MK Materials prior to training:
MK materials may be purchased and even utilized prior to training; however, a facilitator manual must be purchased per facilitator for each organization. Also, each perspective facilitator must read, study, practice and research the methodologies and pedagogies discussed in the facilitator manual, take the quiz at the end of the manual, sign the agreement also at the end of the manual, stating training will be obtained through Foundations for Life Principles at one of our training sites within six months of purchase, and mail to us both the quiz and agreement prior to holding your first MK group, to the following address.
